Barcode Validator and Type Identifier

Not sure what a number under a barcode is? Paste it here. The tool tells you which standard it fits by its length and prefix (EAN-13, UPC-A, EAN-8, ISBN, ISSN, GTIN-14, SSCC-18), checks the check digit, and shows the right last digit when it is wrong.

It reads the number only: to read a barcode from a photo use the barcode scanner. To calculate a missing check digit use the check digit calculator.

Digits only (an X is allowed at the end of an ISBN-10 or ISSN). Spaces and hyphens are ignored.

About the country in the prefix

The first three digits of an EAN-13 show which GS1 office gave the company its number. This is where the brand registered, not necessarily where the product is made, and a valid number does not prove the product is genuine. Books (978/979), magazines (977) and in-store codes (starting 2) follow their own rules.
